Domestic and Commercial Energy Assessment
We offer a wide variety of Energy Assessment services that encompass both domestic and commercial buildings. We have extensive in-house experience and knowledge in a number of disciplines that enables us to not only carry out the requirement of our clients, but also offer advice at every stage to help ensure the best possible service is delivered. Our assessors are supported by senior energy specialists, who act as project managers to large commercial clients and are active trainers of energy assessors.
Gully Howard Technical provide a range of Energy Services and EPC Services, of which this includes both Commercial and Domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPC). An EPC is produced after an inspection of a property by an appropriately qualified assessor.
The EPC Assessor will record key features of the building structure and services present. These are then input into calculation software to produce a rating of between 0 and 100. The EPC will provide details on predicted energy use and costs as well as generating recommendations for improving the buildings performance.
In an effort to reduce the amount of energy we use and carbon we release into the atmosphere, the whole of the EU have signed up to an ambitious plan to improve the efficiency of our buildings. The 2002 European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), which came into force in 2006 seeks to reduce the amount of CO2 which is emitted as a result of heating, lighting and providing hot water to UK homes, many of which have remained poorly insulated.
To facilitate this upgrade of our dwellings the UK has introduced Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) as a measure of the efficiency of a home. A house that is sold and privately or socially rented will need to have an EPC from 1 October 2008. EPCs for commercial buildings are also required upon sale or let.
All domestic buildings in the UK available to buy or rent must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). EPC’s tell you how energy efficient a building is and give it a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). Domestic EPC’s inform the property user how costly it will be to heat and light the property, and what its carbon dioxide emissions are likely to be.
Gully Howard Technical is an accredited organisation to deliver Energy Performance Training to private individuals as well as housing associations. We are able to train individuals with no prior building knowledge, to a level which will enable them to be accredited Domestic Energy Assessors and therefore carry out an accurate EPC in accordance with current legislation. In addition to the above mentioned services, we also offer Energy Consultancy.
Gully Howard Technical’s Energy department offer EPC Services, of which this includes a Commercial EPC. We have extensive experience in carrying out Commercial EPC’s, please contact us for further information. In addition to EPC services, we also provide Energy Training and Energy Consultancy services.
Who Needs A Commercial EPC?
All commercial buildings in the UK available to buy or rent must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). EPC’s tell you how energy efficient a building is and give it a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). EPC’s inform the property user how costly it will be to heat and light the property, and what its carbon dioxide emissions are likely to be.
